Captain Mpambani loses job to Mastermind. Fans of Uzalo were happy to learn that Ntokozo TK Dlamini who plays the role of Mastermind is back on Uzalo but this time as a policeman. The much loved actor replaces veteran actor Jet Novuka who played the role of tough Captain Mpambani. His departure from the show led to a lot of rumours but we are happy that he is back on our screens.
He returns to the soapie after Cebolenkosi Mthembu who plays Nyawo a policeman on Uzalo recently lost his voice after recovering from Covid-19. Jet Novuka joined the soapie in July 2020 and played the role of Captain Mpambani the leader of the KwaMashu police department. His good portrayal of the character led to fans thinking that he was once or ids a policeman in real life and leaves the soapie as a hero after her solved a lot of cold murder cases.
When Mastermind left the soapie his character was arrested for his crimes but it seems jail has changed him as he came out a reformed man and a man of the law.
The storyline suggest that his change was prompted by the fact that he wants a decent life with Thobile and have kids with her. He earned him self a promotion by the senior police officers due to his confession and willingness to change.
Will Mastermind be like Qhabanga who used to be a cop but turned back to his old criminal life that is a question which is yet to be answered as the soapie unravels? He did however leave unfinished business as he will be back to antagonize Mageba and his gang. Countless arrests will be made but he will face some backlashes as Nkunzi is brought into the picture. But he will bring sanity to the KwaMashu police station no doubt about that.
The soapie has seen a lot of its big names leave the soapie like Dawn Thandeka King, Baby Cele and Siyabonga Shibe, but revealed that it will be bringing back some big names such as GC, Thobile and Mxo, it seems Mastermind was the first to get his job back.
The exit of Uzalo firebrand Mangcobo took Mzansi by surprise but for Cele and Shibe their exit did not come as a surprise as they both confirmed their exit late last year after making a series of headlines.
