Bullying is one of the major issues many schools around South Africa have been facing for many years now, thousands of school learners become victims of bullying at school and this has been going on for quite a long time. A high school in KwaZulu-Natal which its name was not revealed made headlines a few months ago after a video of two students fighting went viral.
The video was really heartbreaking considering how badly the other student was, she was embarrassed in front of other school learners as the bully pulled her panty. The video went viral and it ended up reaching the minister of education, the MEC of Education in KwaZulu-Natal Kwazi Mshengu had promised that the matter would be handled accordingly.
The learner was summoned at court however after failing to appear she was sentenced to three months in prison, the teen assault the other learner so badly that it angered a lot of people on social media. The 16 year-old was supposed to appear in court on the 23rd of February and she failed to pitch, her family also revealed that they didn’t know about her whereabouts on that day.
The grade 11 learner is now serving her three months jail sentence and she is also expected to appear befir the magistrate on the 31st of March 2021 regarding the assault charges against her.
