African Cristiano Ronaldo: South African Star ‘Rejected’ By Three More Clubs

African Cristiano Ronaldo: South African Star ‘Rejected’ By Three More Clubs.South Africa international Percy Tau’s career at Al Ahly is hanging by a thread.Since the departure of Pitso Mosimane who convinced him to join the Egyptian giants in 2021, Tau has fallen down the pecking order at the club.

Now regarded as excess baggage, Al Ahly intends to offload the former Brighton & Hove Albion forward. As per reports, the Al Ahly board is believed to be frustrated by the player’s fitness. Tau’s game time has been limited due to a series of injuries which have affected him since his arrival.

Now that Al Ahly is desperate to offload Tau, several clubs are said to have snubbed signing the player after inquiring. This was confirmed by former Al Ahly defender Omar Rabie Yassin.“Al-Ahly had accepted the departure of Tau (as part of a deal that would) include Mustafa Fathi in the new season before the transfer market closes in Saudi Arabia.

“The deal was not completed due to the pressures of Zamalek for [Fathi’s] return, and Tau was part of Al-Ahly’s deal with the Saudi club to acquire the services of the Fathi this summer.”The 28-year-old forward was also linked to Orlando Pirates but coach Jose Riveiro dismissed the rumors saying that he doesn’t even know who is Percy Tau.

“I don’t even know the player you’re talking about. My focus is on TS Galaxy and the players we have. He [Tau] is not on our team“My focus is on the players we have here. We have a lot of talent in different profiles and possibilities. Trust me, it’s a question of confidence. One day these types of questions [about the Pirates’ attack and strikers] will not be here anymore. I’m pretty sure of that, said Riveiroas quoted by TimesLive.

Percy Tau was also on the radar of French Ligue 2 club Le Havre.Le Havre was keen on signing Tau after his former coach Luka Elsner expressed interest in the South African player.Despite being Elsner’s prime target, Le Havre backed off from the deal in the 11th hour citing that the deal was “triky”.
