Amazulu chairman insults Kaizer Chiefs players calls them rejects. Usually when premiership league teams want a highly-valued player from another team, they can do other things beside increasing their offer to secure the deal.
Kaizer Chiefs made news earlier before the January transfer window as they let known of their ambition to sign an Amazulu Football Club’s player. Now Sandile Zungu, the Usuthu’s chairman has revealed some things that were happening behind the scenes.
The chairman said that Chiefs in trying to get Siyethemba Sithebe offered two other players to them, in addition to money. He then said that his team was against that move in what he termed the two players as rejects. That was a bit unusual, but his point was loud and clear, they seem to highly value their midfielder.
He told KickOff magazine, “We were offered two players by Kaizer Chiefs. And we made it very clear that look, we not a dumping ground for rejects. Ja we were offered but we looked at the players that they were offering and we said no.”
The identity of these two players offered to Amazulu is yet to be revealed and we can’t confirm who they are at the moment.
“We are not a dumping ground for other team’s rejects, AmaZulu of old and AmaZulu of today – our brand is very important and we need to protect it,” Zungu explained further.
Sithebe had signed a pre-contract with Amakhosi and he hasn’t been playing for the team as a consequence of his conduct which seemed detrimental to the team. We are also yet to hear how Chiefs will respond to the comments of Amazulu’s chairman calling their two players “rejects”.
