The ANC in the North West province has condemned the incident and called for the pastor to be dismissed from his position. The party’s spokesperson, Dakota Legoete, said in a statement that the incident was “shameful and disgusting” and called on the church to take decisive action.

“The ANC in the North West condemns in the strongest possible terms the shameful and disgusting behavior of the pastor who was caught with his pants down during a live Zoom church service. This behavior is not only unbecoming of a man of the cloth but also goes against the teachings of the Bible and the values of our society,” Legoete said.

“We call on the church to take decisive action against this pastor, including his immediate dismissal from his position. Such behavior cannot be tolerated, and we urge all religious leaders to ensure that their conduct is beyond reproach,” he added.

The incident has sparked a debate on social media about the conduct of religious leaders and their accountability to their congregants. Many people have expressed outrage at the pastor’s behavior and have called for him to be held accountable.

Some have also criticized the church for not taking action against the pastor sooner. “This is not the first time that such incidents have occurred, and it is unacceptable that the church has not taken decisive action to address this issue,” one person wrote on social media.

Others have called for more transparency and accountability from religious institutions. “Religious leaders have a responsibility to their congregants, and they should be held accountable for their actions. We need more transparency and accountability in our religious institutions to prevent such incidents from happening in the future,” another person wrote.

The incident has also highlighted the need for better regulation of religious institutions in South Africa. Currently, there are no laws that govern the conduct of religious leaders, and many people have called for the government to intervene to ensure that such incidents are prevented in the future.
