In shock Jacob Zuma strikes again see what he want Mzansi to do to Cyril Ramaphosa. This is definitely a bad time to be the president of the ANC party President Cyril Ramaphosa is not having a good time as he has been called to step down in the wake of the ANC’s terrible showing at the 2021 municipal polls. The Radical Economic Transformation (RET) faction has been at the fore front when it comes to him stepping down.
Ramaphosa presided over an election in which the ANC fell below the 50% mark for the very first time since the democratic dispensation which is a hard thing to swallow for most of them as they also lost key Metros such as Johannesburg, Tshwane, Ekurhuleni and eThekwini which has an annual budget of R50-billion.
Among some of those who are calling for action to be taken against the party’s leadership is former President Jacob Zuma has also taken it upon himself to call for the change in leadership which most have said it is because of the humiliation he suffered when he was arrested.
“In our party structures, let’s stand up,” Zuma said.
The ANC is set to hold its Covid-19 delayed The National General Council (NGC) which was delayed by Covid 19 is set to happen early next week. During the NGC branches are afforded the opportunity to engage on issues that are facing the people and to assess the progress the ANC government is making and this is the opportune time for those with an agenda to strike against the president.
However Ramaphosa does not seem to be concerned by it as he has a good support within the national executive committee and generally across ANC structures, therefore, there is almost zero possibility that he would be removed.
