It’s a shocker all those who are not vaccinated can no longer go to these places. The lines have been drawn in regards to vaccination and now the Labour and Employment Minister Thulas Nxesi comfirmed that Nedlac has issued a recommendation for the Covid-19 jabbing to be mandatory.

This mandatory vaccination is said to be done in workplaces, as well as for people to access other selected venues they should have met this requirement. The hospitality section of business is the mostly targeted as they host certain gatherings and events involving many people and it’s to be restricted to only vaccinated participants.

Also, the maximum capacity to be held at public gatherings is said to be simplified, so that there is ample ventilation and increased social distancing. The Nedlac Rapid Response Task Team is of the idea that promoting vaccination is the greatest initiative yet to curtail the spread of Covid-19.

Nxesi as the Minister of Enployment has to also look at himself in the mirror as unemployment remains a problem in South Africa and yet he’s not helping enough in that area. Rather, now comes to seek relevance in addressing the Covid-19 issue instead of following through his past promises or more jobs.

Cause for concern is also how Nedlac didn’t consult the public about this and yet it goes on to announce its own mandatory list of requirements from the people to abide with. Where is the freedom of choice? What does the constitution say?

Have Nedlac also done enough to visit the remote areas and offer more about vaccination? They have a lot to answer, as also expected of Nxesi on the souring levels of unemployment.
