Matric exams results: When will they be released. Finally the wait is over as the Department of Basic Education as it prepares to release the results for the 2021 National Senior Certificate (NSC) Examincations. It is definitely not a good time for the 900 000 plus matric pupils who sat down for the October/November 2021 exams as they wonder if they made it or not.
The Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga is going to speak o the matric results on Thursday, 20 January 2022 were she might speak on the results , pass rate, she might also name the best and worst performing schools. Students will then be able to go and collect their results the following day.
Results are out and will be ready for collection as Quality assurance body Umalusi has already given the 2021 matric exam results its stamp of approval.
“Having studied all the evidence presented, the executive committee of the Umalusi Council, noted that apart from some examination irregularities identified during the writing and marking of the examinations, there were no systemic irregularities reported that compromised the credibility and integrity of the November 2021 NSC examinations as a whole,” said Umalusi Council chairperson, Professor Jimmy Volmink on Tuesday, 18 January.
The matric results will be published in different media channels following the recently introduced Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
“It has indeed become clear that the fluidity and uncertainty caused by Covid-19 will remain with us for the foreseeable future, therefore we cannot wish it away. However, we can be innovative in how we navigate the ‘new normal’. Thus all stakeholders in education need to find ways to still do their work effectively and efficiently despite the pandemic.”
