Oskido shares what led to his father’s death. On Thursday the father of the legendary music producer Oskido passed away. His father Esaph Mdlongwa passed away at the age of 73 at Bulawayo’s Mater Sei hospital on Wednesday.
Oskido took to Facebook to announce the sad passing of his father. Taking to his Facebook account he wrote “It’s with great sadness to let you know that I have lost my old man due to Covid-19,” Oskido wrote on Facebook.
The Kalawa Jazmee founder described his father as “a great man who inspired me to understand the value of life.”

“So long Mandala, rest well. I will see you again in the next lifetime. You’ve shown us a way, shone the light, and paved the way for us. Akwehlanga lungehlanga,” he added.
On Wednesday evening the medical director for Bulawayo province Welcome Mlilo said as a result of Mdlongwa’s death Bulawayo has recorded a new covid-19 death bringing the countries death toll to 230 from 8 036 infections.
Oskido’s father Mdlongwa was one of the founding fathers of MDC he started off as the parties organising secretary general however by the time of his death he had retired from politics although he did attend some campaign rallies for MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa.
Many people have been sending in their condolences. MDC vice president Welshman Ncube also sent in his tribute . He had this to say about Welshman ” Mdlongwa was a firm, principled, compassionate, kind and trusting almost to a fault.”
“It’s so so sad he departs at a time of great strife and suffering in our motherland having dedicated his entire life to the struggles of the working class, the poor and downtrodden,” Ncube said.
