Pitso to smile all the way to the bank after Ahly’s huge contract offer

Pitso to smile all the way to the bank after Ahly’s huge contract offer. In Africa, one of the highest earning coaches is Pitso Mosimane of Al Ahly and it looks set that he is on his way to remain on that list for a long time, though at times before it looked otherwise. The coach is also known to be a strong supporter of football players getting higher salaries and vouch for them to accumulate as much as they can.

Well his message also goes to himself as he is making it financially as well. Last season, Al Ahly were pipped to the league title by rivals Zamalek and much was said concerning Pitso’s stint at the club. Some club loyalists lobbied for his head and wanted him fired, but once he stayed on the team this season they are doing well.

The current positive performances by Al Ahly have made room for the coach to be on the lookout for a new term and there have been reports to support this. According to sources in Egypt, the team is prepared to offer the 57 year old Mosimane a new contract. It is reported that the team’s hierarchy are set for a meeting to extend Pitso’s union with the club.

Currently the coach earns an annual salary in the range of R54 million and if he wins another deal it will rise by another R8 million to make it R62 million. His current contract which he signed upon leaving Mamelodi Sundowns was for two years and he now has just a year left. Mahmoud El Khatib, the club’s chairman is reportedly the engineer of this potential new deal for Pitso.

“Al Ahly football company led by Yasin Mansour will be meeting with Mosimane on Tuesday to reach an agreement for a new contract. The club’s board of directors decided that the football company will be responsible for everything regarding the football team,” revealed the club’s insider Ahmed Shobier.

The chairman has been an admirer of Jingles and has tremendous respect to his football acumen. Though some within the club see it differently and even a section of their fans, given their failure to win last season’s championship.

His achievements and earning power is very pleasing to the motherland as it resembled how much coaching talent Mzansi has.
