Rand Water is one of the largest water utility companies in South Africa, providing clean and safe water to millions of people across the Gauteng province. As part of its commitment to developing the skills of young South Africans, Rand Water has opened up a learnership programme for 2023.

The learnership programme is aimed at providing young people with the skills and knowledge they need to pursue a career in the water industry. The programme is open to individuals who have completed their Matric or Grade 12, and who are passionate about water and its importance to our society.

The programme will cover a range of topics, including water treatment, distribution, and management, as well as environmental management and health and safety. Participants will also receive training in basic business skills, such as customer service, communication, and financial management.

The learnership will run for a period of 12 months, during which time participants will receive a stipend to cover their living expenses. Participants will also have the opportunity to gain practical experience by working alongside experienced professionals in the water industry.

To apply for the Rand Water learnership programme, interested individuals must meet the following requirements:

  1. Be a South African citizen
  2. Have completed Matric or Grade 12 with a minimum pass rate of 50% in mathematics and physical science
  3. Be between the ages of 18 and 35
  4. Have a valid South African ID document
  5. Be able to speak, read, and write in English

In addition to meeting these requirements, applicants must also submit a detailed CV, certified copies of their ID document and Matric certificate, and a motivational letter explaining why they are interested in pursuing a career in the water industry.

Applications can be submitted online through the Rand Water website, or by email or post. The deadline for applications is 31 May 2023, and successful applicants will be notified by 30 June 2023.
