Someone sabotaged Ramaphosa’s gala address. This went wrong during the Ranch Resort in Polokwane, Limpopo, on Friday, during the ANC gala dinner fundraising.during the presidents address the lights went off and the police minister has reported that it was not a technical glitch but that the electricity was turned off on purpose.
It was turned off as the president was thanking the business community for its financial support, and telling business leaders that the economic recovery measures were in the works and that the ANC regeneration programme was not a pipe dream.
Before the electricity was turned off he had acknowledged that the ANC was worried about things that have been happening such as the security breaches which have led to assaults on institutions such as parliament. He had also thanked those who have continually stuck with the party saying,
“Aside from demonstrating your financial support, your presence here demonstrates that you still have faith in the ANC.” “We applaud you for your contribution to the ANC’s sustainability and stability — for having the bravery to come tonight and be linked with the ANC,” he added.
After the electricity was turned of he was escorted out of the building followed by his Deputy President David Mabuza and National Chairperson Gwede Mantashe followed and the power was restored 15 minutes later.
