Vaccination rollout plan continues


The country received the first batch of J and J Covid 19 vaccines. The health minister, Dr Zweli Mkhize said that the country has also secured enough vaccines for those willing to be vaccinated. Nine million vaccines order to J and J is secured.

Northern Cape… Robert Sobukwe Hospital in Kimberley.

Western Cape… Groote Schuur hospital and Tygerberg Hospital in cape Town

North West… Job Shimankana Tabane Hospital in Rustenburg and Klerksdorp/ Tshepong Hospital in Klerksdorp.

Coetzee announced that during the vaccination, the general Practitioners have been allocated the next two Sundays between 10am and 8pm. That is a slot to be vaccinated because they are front line workers.

“But the other days it will be the public sectors and nurse and also front line workers that will be vaccinated. The South African medical research council is expected to handle the vaccination processes.”

South Africa has to administer all 80 000 J and J doses before it can receive more vaccines.
