In a dramatic and public fallout, former *Generations* actress Letoya Makhene has been accused by her ex-wife, Lebo Keswa, of being a “fake sangoma.” The accusations have sparked intense media attention and left many wondering about the validity of Letoya’s traditional healer status.

The Public Accusation

The controversy erupted when one of Letoya’s initiates appeared on Moja Love’s television show, accusing her of being a fraudulent gobela (traditional healer). Letoya, who tried to maintain her composure during the confrontation, eventually snapped, accusing her ex-partner, Lebo Keswa, of orchestrating the humiliating attack.

The couple, who were married in a traditional ceremony in December 2020, have been embroiled in a bitter public dispute since their separation a few months ago. Their once celebrated union has devolved into a war of words, with each party airing their grievances and dirty laundry in the media.

**Blondie Makhene’s Heartbreak**

Legendary musician Blondie Makhene, Letoya’s father, expressed deep disappointment and heartbreak over the public feud. Speaking to *TshisaLIVE*, Blondie revealed his anguish over the damage being done to his family’s name.

“Ingifuna Indlule Iphele Lento [I’d like this thing to get resolved], because this child who is ruining Letoya’s name is my child, she married Letoya traditionally, and I accepted her as my child. But now, she’s ruining the family name which she married into,” Blondie lamented. “I don’t want to talk too much about this, my heart is broken — this is my child who is ruining my name in this manner.”

**Lebo Keswa’s Allegations**

When contacted by *TshisaLIVE*, Lebo Keswa did not hold back in her accusations against Letoya. She claimed that Letoya’s practice as a sangoma was rooted in deception and that she had never fully completed her training. According to Lebo, Letoya’s initiation process was fraught with complications, including a fallout with her original gobela, Gogo Mulle, who passed away before Letoya could complete her training.

Lebo further alleged that Letoya sought help from multiple gobelas to finish her initiation process but was unsuccessful due to repeated conflicts. Despite these setbacks, Letoya allegedly proceeded to take in her own initiates and even opened her own school, or mpande, without being fully qualified.

“Letoya has done nothing but mess up and then try to play the victim,” Lebo stated. “She’s had various people, especially other sangomas and gobelas, come to call her to order about her drinking and how she can’t expose her initiates to her drunkenness.”

Lebo also revealed that during their marriage, she had to take on many responsibilities that should have been handled by Letoya, painting a picture of dysfunction and irresponsibility on Letoya’s part.

**Letoya’s Silence**

*TshisaLIVE* reached out to Letoya’s publicist for comment on the allegations, but received no response. The silence from Letoya’s camp has only fueled speculation and left her supporters and critics alike waiting for her side of the story.

**A Marriage Turned Sour**

The once-celebrated union between Letoya Makhene and Lebo Keswa has now turned into a cautionary tale of love gone wrong. As the public feud continues to unfold, the drama between the former couple serves as a reminder of how quickly relationships can sour, leaving both parties to deal with the fallout in the harsh glare of the public eye.

The allegations of fraud and dishonesty, coupled with the emotional toll on both families, have made this a headline-grabbing saga that shows no signs of resolution anytime soon.
