It’s been nearly a month since Sabelo Dlamini vanished without a trace after being seen at Lapeng Lifestyle in Kriel on 7 September 2025, and his family and police remain baffled by the circumstances.
Last Known Whereabouts and What We Know
The 36-year-old was last seen on that Sunday evening when he was out with his girlfriend. He was dressed in an olive-green sweater, black jeans, and black-and-white Nike sneakers. His vehicle was later discovered parked at a relative of his girlfriend in the same vicinity, and, alarmingly, his phone was found inside the car.
Sabelo’s sister, Ntombifuthi Dlamini, says that according to the information her family received, he went to use the bathroom and “never came back.” She and the rest of the family are deeply unsettled — it is entirely unlike him to go anywhere without informing someone first.
Family’s Pleas and Growing Concerns
The Dlamini family is desperate for answers and has appealed to anyone in the community with information to come forward. “We still need him, and his kids also need him the most,” Ntombifuthi said. Their concerns have only grown as each day passes, particularly for their mother, who has been emotionally distraught since Sabelo vanished.
They remain haunted by the question: Where could he have gone?
Police Involvement and the Investigation So Far
Authorities in Kriel have confirmed that a missing-person case has been opened. Sgt. Thulisile Magagula stated that Dlamini was officially reported missing on 9 September, and the police immediately launched a search operation.
The investigation is ongoing, with law enforcement collaborating closely with Sabelo’s family to collect any additional clues, leads, or relevant information.
The Mystery Deepens
What makes this disappearance especially unsettling is that there are no clear explanations yet. His phone left in the car, no trace of where he may have gone after entering the restroom, and no prior history of vanishing without word — these all combine to cast a shadow over what should have been a routine evening.
As the search continues, the Dlamini family’s hope hinges on someone stepping forward with information that might break the case open.
If you live in Kriel, Lapeng, or nearby areas and saw anything unusual on or around 7 September 2025, or know someone who might, your help could be vital. The police urge anyone with information—even what may seem insignificant—to come forward.
May Sabelo be found safe, and may his family find the closure they so desperately need.
