TICKYLINE – A 24-year-old mother has reportedly gone missing after leaving her two young children, aged four and six, in the care of her boyfriend on Saturday, May 9, during what is believed to have been a SASSA payout day.
According to reports, the woman, identified as Modjadji Ramohale, left the children at home with their 29-year-old father figure, saying she was going to Maake Plaza to buy food. However, she has not returned since that day, leaving the family deeply worried and uncertain about her whereabouts.
The boyfriend, who is now caring for the two children, says he was left confused and concerned after she failed to come back as expected. He claims that before leaving, Ramohale allegedly took money intended for the children’s needs.
A family member further alleged that the money was not used for its intended purpose. “She went to Maake Plaza and spent the money on herself and another man. The family is very hurt,” the relative said, expressing frustration and concern over the situation.
Since her disappearance, her phone has remained switched off, making it difficult for relatives to trace her. Family members say they have been trying tirelessly to reach her without success, increasing fears about her safety and well-being.
However, on Tuesday, there was a brief moment of contact when Ramohale reportedly called from a private number. During the call, she allegedly asked about the well-being of her children. Despite this, she has not returned home, even after being informed that one of the children is currently unwell.
The sudden disappearance has left the family emotionally distressed, especially as the children continue to ask questions about their mother’s whereabouts. The boyfriend has taken responsibility for their care in her absence, while relatives are stepping in to assist where possible.
“We are very worried about the wellbeing of the kids,” a family member said, adding that the situation has created anxiety and uncertainty within the household.
At this stage, it remains unclear where Ramohale is or what led to her disappearance. Family members are urging her to return home safely, especially for the sake of her children, who are said to be deeply affected by her sudden absence.
