The Limpopo music industry is once again mourning the painful loss of a young and talented artist after rising Lekompo star Mpho Eric Ngoepe, popularly known as Nova SA Style, was laid to rest in an emotional funeral attended by hundreds of mourners.
The 26-year-old musician reportedly lost his life in a tragic car accident on Friday, 8 May, while travelling to an event in Mpumalanga. His sudden passing shocked fans, fellow artists, family members, and the entire Lekompo community, which has experienced several heartbreaking losses in recent months.
Mourners packed Mahwelereng Stadium in Limpopo on Saturday, 16 May, as they gathered to pay their final respects to the young artist whose career was beginning to shine brightly in the local music scene. Emotional scenes unfolded during the funeral service as family, friends, and supporters struggled to come to terms with his untimely death.

Nova SA Style had become a well-known name in the Lekompo genre through his energetic performances and popular songs that connected deeply with fans. Tracks such as “Skhethehe,” “10 Gram,” and “Lerato Le Fedile” helped him build a growing fanbase across Limpopo and other parts of South Africa. According to reports, the musician had recently released new music shortly before the accident happened.
Family members described him as a respectful and hardworking young man who always dreamed of making it big in music. During the funeral service, relatives revealed that before pursuing music full-time, Nova worked as a security officer to support himself and his family. However, his passion for music eventually pushed him to follow his dream completely.
His sister reportedly told mourners that Nova wanted to uplift and make his family proud through his music career. Friends and fellow artists also shared touching tributes, remembering him as a humble, caring, and talented individual who inspired many young musicians in Limpopo.

The tragedy has once again raised concerns within the Lekompo industry after several artists reportedly lost their lives in recent months. Nova SA Style’s death came shortly after the passing of another young Lekompo artist, Queen Terc, who also died following a car accident. Other artists such as Juddy Malekere, Fuego, and Kenny Bevhula have also passed away recently, leaving the local entertainment industry devastated.
The Limpopo Artists Movement (LAM) expressed sadness over the growing number of young artists dying within a short period. Industry leaders have called for prayers, unity, and support for grieving families during these difficult times.
Earlier this week, Nova SA Style’s family also appealed to the public for assistance with funeral costs, revealing that the late musician was one of the main breadwinners at home. Many fans and community members reportedly came together to support the family during their time of grief.
