**Fatal Accident on Buitengracht Street**

According to reports from *News24*, the two sisters were out for a walk when the red Ferrari suddenly sped toward them. Anelisa recalled hearing the loud screeching of tires before the vehicle struck another pedestrian behind them. Unfortunately, the car continued on its course, hitting Mdlokolo directly.

“My sister and I were walking, and then suddenly, we heard screeching tires. It hit someone behind us and then came straight for my sister,” Anelisa told *News24*.

Emergency responders arrived quickly, but Mdlokolo had already succumbed to her injuries and was declared dead at the scene. The other pedestrian, whose identity has not been confirmed, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital.

## **Driver Arrested at the Scene**
A public safety officer from the Cape Town Central City Improvement District (CCID), who was nearby at the time, immediately intervened and restrained the driver until police arrived. The 36-year-old driver was arrested at the scene and later appeared in court.

Captain FC van Wyk from the Cape Town Central Police confirmed that a case of culpable homicide is currently under investigation. The driver was granted bail and is scheduled to appear in court again on May 7, 2025.
