Today marks one year since little Joslin vanished from Saldanha, West Coast, Cape Town, on 19 February 2024. It has been a year filled with relentless searching, unwavering hope, desperate pleas, and countless prayers—all met with heartbreaking silence.

Despite exhaustive investigations and extensive search efforts, Joslin’s whereabouts remain unknown. In March 2024, authorities arrested her mother, Kelly Smith, along with Jacquen Appollis and Steveno van Rhyn, charging them with kidnapping and human trafficking. The case has since been transferred to the Western Cape High Court, where a pre-trial conference is scheduled for 28 February 2025.

The community, along with concerned citizens across South Africa, refuses to forget Joslin. Her disappearance has sparked nationwide conversations about child safety and the urgent need for stronger protections against trafficking and abduction.

Joslin, wherever you are, your memory remains alive in the hearts of those who continue to search for answers. We will not stop fighting for you or for any other missing child in South Africa.
