A 50-year-old man, accused of being a peeping tom, was stabbed by his 21-year-old niece during a heated altercation in Area 1, Mhlasini, KwaZulu-Natal, on Thursday afternoon.
Incident Report
The confrontation took place around 15:13 when members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called to the scene for assistance. The caller reported that a group of relatives had been drinking together when an argument escalated into violence, leading to one person being stabbed.
Upon arrival, Reaction Officers found the injured man lying on an unpaved road approximately 200 meters from the location of the incident. He had suffered a deep stab wound to the chest.
Details of the Altercation
According to the injured man, he had been drinking with his niece and two other relatives at their home when the argument erupted. He claimed that his niece began taunting him about a previous conviction, which led to a verbal dispute. The situation quickly escalated into a physical altercation involving beer bottles. The niece allegedly grabbed a broken bottle and stabbed him in the chest before he managed to leave the property. However, he collapsed a short distance away due to the severity of the wound.
Allegations of Misconduct

She claimed that he had been caught multiple times spying on her mother and sisters through a window while they were bathing.
She stated that she confronted him about his actions while they were drinking, which led to a heated argument. Tensions quickly flared, resulting in the violent stabbing.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities could not immediately verify either party’s claims. The injured man was transported to a medical facility for treatment, while his niece was taken into police custody for further investigation.
