Popular South African businesswoman and reality TV star Shauwn “Mam’Mkhize” Mkhize is facing major financial troubles as her luxury vehicles and Royal AM Football Club buses are set to be auctioned. The assets are being sold to help settle a mounting debt of R40 million owed to the South African Revenue Service (SARS).

The auction, organized by Bidders Choice, will be conducted online between 27 June and 2 July. The fleet of vehicles up for grabs includes high-end luxury cars such as a Bentley Continental GTC, a Mercedes-Benz Maybach, multiple BMWs, and two Toyota Hilux bakkies. Several branded tour buses used by Royal AM FC to transport players to matches are also part of the sale.

This auction comes after a long battle between Mam’Mkhize and SARS. The trouble started in late 2024 when the KwaZulu-Natal Local Division of the High Court granted SARS a preservation order and a search-and-seizure warrant against her and several associates. Since then, SARS has been working to recover unpaid taxes, which have now reached an estimated R40 million.

For those interested in the auction, Bidders Choice has listed all the vehicles on their website. Potential buyers must pay a R50,000 registration fee before participating in the auction. Viewing dates for the vehicles have been set for 26 to 27 June in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, and 30 June to 1 July in Bapsfontein, Johannesburg.

The troubles for Mam’Mkhize don’t end there. Earlier this year, efforts to sell Royal AM FC to new owners fell through. Although Global Investment 0107 (Pty) Ltd was initially announced as the winning bidder, the deal collapsed after the company failed to make payment by the deadline of 27 March. This failure resulted in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) officially dismissing Royal AM FC from the league.

Global Investment 0107 is reportedly associated with Roy Moodley, a known associate of former President Jacob Zuma, adding further controversy to the failed sale.

What was once a thriving football club under Mam’Mkhize’s leadership now faces an uncertain future. Fans who once believed that the club could bounce back are left disappointed as the financial drama surrounding Mam’Mkhize deepens.

As the auction dates approach, all eyes will be on whether the sale of these luxury assets will finally help settle her growing debts with SARS.
