### **The Horrifying Discovery**
Community members passing through the area stumbled upon the bodies—a woman lying naked next to a footpath with stab wounds on her neck, and a man hanging from a tree about 20 meters away. The woman’s clothing, including her underwear, was found hidden roughly 30 meters deeper into the bushes.

### **Victims Identified**
The victims were identified as 38-year-old Khumo Moatshe and his 26-year-old girlfriend, Kefilwe Mosane. Initial investigations revealed that the couple had been living together, but Mosane had recently moved out due to domestic violence.

### **Events Leading to the Tragedy**
On the night of the incident, Moatshe reportedly called Mosane, asking her to come and collect one of their children, who was crying and needed her mother. Mosane agreed to meet him, but she was never seen alive again.

### **Police Investigations and Community Reaction**
Preliminary findings suggest that Moatshe killed Mosane before taking his own life. The motive appears to be linked to domestic issues. Police investigations are ongoing to uncover the full details of the case.

Major General Patrick Asaneng, Acting Provincial Commissioner of North West, condemned the act in the strongest terms. “This tragic incident highlights the devastating impact of domestic violence. We urge community members to seek professional help to address disputes rather than resorting to violence,” he said.

### **Domestic Violence in Focus**
This case adds to the growing concerns about domestic violence in South Africa. The Commissioner emphasized the need for awareness and intervention programs to combat this societal issue.

### **Condolences to the Families**
The Commissioner extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, urging them to find solace during this difficult time. The community is encouraged to unite in addressing and preventing such tragedies in the future.

This heartbreaking incident underscores the urgent need for greater awareness and support systems to prevent domestic violence, which continues to claim countless lives.
