An urgent call has been made to the public for assistance in locating Omphile Sebiloane, an 8-year-old girl who was abducted during a violent house robbery in Ratanda, Heidelberg, on the morning of 5 June 2025.
According to initial reports, the Sebiloane family was suddenly awoken by intruders who forcefully entered their home with the alleged intention of committing robbery. In the chaos that followed, the attackers took the unimaginable step of kidnapping young Omphile. Despite ongoing search efforts by authorities and community members, she remains missing.
At the time of her disappearance, Omphile was dressed in pink track pants, a maroon top, and a black jacket. She was also reportedly still wearing her pyjamas underneath. Omphile is a Grade 2 learner at Shalimar Ridge Primary School.
This deeply disturbing incident has left the family and local community devastated. The authorities are treating the case with the utmost urgency and are appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious around the time of the incident to come forward.
