South African actress Sophie Ndaba is set to take the spotlight in an exciting episode of *Deal or No Deal Celebrity* this Saturday, 15 June, at 6 pm on SABC1. The beloved thespian, known for her iconic role as Queen Moroka in *Generations*, will be playing on behalf of *Hearts of Hope*, a children’s home dedicated to providing care for orphaned and abandoned children.
Founded in 2003, *Hearts of Hope* began as an ecumenical initiative, establishing a safe home for six orphaned children. Over the years, the organization has expanded significantly and now cares for 52 children. With a focus on delivering 24-hour personal care in a nurturing Christian environment, *Hearts of Hope* aims to create a supportive space for children to thrive. A dedicated House Mom oversees the day-to-day care, ensuring the children receive the attention and love they deserve. Sophie Ndaba’s appearance on the show is not just for entertainment—she hopes to raise as much money as possible to continue supporting these children.
Ndaba is no stranger to philanthropic efforts, and her participation on *Deal or No Deal Celebrity* is another example of her commitment to making a positive impact in the community. With the stakes high, she will be aiming to win the maximum amount from the show’s money tree to contribute to the vital work being done at *Hearts of Hope*.
In last week’s episode, *Skeem Saam* star Eric Macheru took on the Banker and walked away with R25,400. He had initially selected briefcase number 12, which held R2,500. After much suspense and negotiations, Macheru decided to accept the offer. Reflecting on his experience, he said, “Being on *Deal or No Deal Celebrity* was an amazing journey and an emotional roller coaster, but so beautiful. I enjoyed my time there. Thank you to the team for inviting me.”
Macheru had chosen to support *Echo Children*, an organization that teaches kids sustainable living skills. “I admire how they teach the kids sustainable living, which allows them to have the skill and use it in the future to sustain themselves. It is a beautiful skill to learn when you are in that environment to use what nature is giving you and what your surroundings offer to better your life,” he added.
Now, it’s Sophie Ndaba’s turn to face the famously tough Banker. Will she be able to secure a better deal than her predecessors, or will the Banker manage to outmaneuver her? The suspense is building as fans eagerly await to see how the episode unfolds.
Tune in to SABC1 this Saturday at 18:00 to catch Sophie Ndaba’s bid to win money for *Hearts of Hope*. If you miss the live broadcast, you can still catch the rebroadcast on S3 on Sundays at noon, or again on SABC1 on Tuesdays at 22:00.
