Laurelle Vianne Mario, a 38-year-old mother from Eldorado Park in Gauteng, was tragically found murdered after leaving her home on 24 August 2026.
Laurelle reportedly left her home at approximately 17:00, telling her family that she was going out and would return later. At the time, there was nothing to suggest that it would be the last time her loved ones would see her alive.
During the evening, Laurelle’s 12-year-old daughter managed to speak to her. Laurelle reportedly told her daughter that she was on her way home. However, she never arrived.
At around 20:00, Laurelle’s body was discovered along Nancifield, also known as Nancefield Road, in Eldorado Park. She was found in an open industrial area after a passerby and a private security company alerted police to the discovery.
Police reportedly found that Laurelle had sustained injuries to her upper body. Her vehicle and cellphone were also missing from the scene. Investigators subsequently treated the case as a murder and hijacking.

The investigation continued for several weeks before police made arrests in September. Three suspects were eventually taken into custody following an intelligence-driven operation.
One of the suspects, aged approximately 27, was traced to a scrapyard in Freedom Park. According to police allegations, the suspect attempted to escape when officers arrived. He allegedly produced a firearm, resulting in an exchange of gunfire with police.
The suspect was wounded during the incident and taken to hospital under police guard.
Two additional suspects, aged 35 and 36, were later arrested in connection with the investigation. The three suspects are facing serious charges, including murder and hijacking.
At least one of the suspects is also facing additional charges relating to the possession or use of a firearm and ammunition.
The arrests marked a significant development in the investigation into Laurelle’s death, but the case remains before the courts. As with all accused persons, the suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
For Laurelle’s family, however, the arrests cannot erase the pain of losing a mother, daughter, relative and loved one.
Her 12-year-old daughter is now left to face life without her mother, while family and friends continue to mourn a woman whose life was cut short.
Laurelle’s death has left those who knew her grieving and seeking justice. Her loved ones will have to carry the memories of the woman she was while waiting for the legal process to take its course.
May Laurelle Vianne Mario rest in eternal peace, and may her family and loved ones find strength and comfort during this devastating time. 🕊️💔
