According to the source, the alleged shooter appeared to be wearing blue clothing, which reportedly differs from the clothes Collins was wearing at the time.
The claims have added another layer to an already closely watched criminal investigation. However, police have firmly rejected suggestions that the wrong person was arrested and continue to maintain that their investigation has linked Collins to the crime.

Two R5 rifles believed to have been stolen from the murdered police officers were reportedly recovered at a location linked to him.
