South African dancer and musician Limpopo Boy, whose real name is Robert Matome Thoka, has found himself at the centre of a major social media controversy after a private video allegedly involving him and a woman began circulating online.

In the unverified exchange, an individual appears to question the performer about the incident. An account attributed to Limpopo Boy allegedly responds to the questions, although there is currently no independent confirmation that the account or conversation is genuine.
The screenshot has therefore prompted further debate, but it should be treated with caution until its authenticity can be established.
### Social media reacts to alleged lobola claims
Adding fuel to the controversy are claims that the woman featured in the circulating footage may be married.

Social media users have since flooded various platforms with jokes and memes, including references to an alleged R85,000 lobola payment and the phrase “SIM 2”, which has been used as slang in reactions to the allegations.
Despite the viral nature of these claims, there is no verified information confirming that R85,000 was paid as lobola or establishing the woman’s marital status. There is also no confirmed evidence identifying her alleged husband.
Limpopo Boy’s management has not confirmed the woman’s identity or any of the relationship claims being made online.
### Management investigates alleged leak
Limpopo Boy’s team has urged members of the public not to download, save or distribute the private footage.
Management said cybersecurity specialists had been brought in to investigate how the material allegedly became public. Lawyers and online platforms are also reportedly being approached in an effort to have unauthorised copies removed.
