Police in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga, have launched a manhunt for a man known as MaSeven following the alleged fatal stabbing of Moshe Moses Kunene in Thembalethu on Wednesday morning, 3 September 2026.
According to preliminary information from police, officers were called to the area after receiving reports of a stabbing. When they arrived at the scene, they found Kunene lying on the ground with what appeared to be a serious wound to his upper body.
Emergency personnel were called to assist, but Kunene was declared dead at the scene. Police have since opened a murder case as detectives work to establish exactly what led to the deadly incident.
Investigators believe that Kunene and the suspect were reportedly in a same-sex relationship. It is alleged that the pair were involved in an argument that later became physical.
During the confrontation, MaSeven allegedly stabbed Kunene with a knife before fleeing from the scene. The suspect had not been arrested at the time police issued an appeal for information about his whereabouts.
