Tanzanian beauty entrepreneur Poshy Queen has sparked a heated debate on social media after sharing what she claims are private Instagram messages allegedly sent to the late Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo.
The messages, which reportedly date back to 2019, were revealed in a video that circulated widely on social media days after Chivayo died in a helicopter crash. The businessman and his wife, Lucy, were killed when the aircraft crashed in the Marondera area of Zimbabwe on 30 September 2026.
In the video, Poshy Queen appears to scroll through an Instagram conversation while discussing the messages. She claims the exchanges began in May 2019, with Chivayo allegedly sending her several compliments about her appearance.

Among the messages shown were compliments describing her as beautiful. According to the video, Poshy Queen did not respond to the messages and appeared to leave them unanswered.
The decision to make the alleged conversation public after Chivayo’s death has divided social media users. Some questioned why the messages were only being revealed years after they were allegedly sent and shortly after the businessman died.
Others also questioned whether the account shown in the video genuinely belonged to Chivayo, pointing out that numerous fake and impersonator accounts can exist on social media.
One social media user argued that the timing made the claims difficult to accept, suggesting that Chivayo could no longer respond to the allegations himself. Another questioned why Poshy Queen had kept the messages for so many years if she had not been interested in the alleged advances.
Other commenters took a more critical view of the decision to publish the conversation, describing it as an attempt to gain attention. Some argued that receiving compliments or romantic messages from a wealthy businessman was not unusual and did not necessarily warrant public attention years later.

However, not everyone dismissed the claims. One commenter suggested that it was possible Poshy Queen’s responses had been deleted, meaning the publicly displayed conversation might not show the entire exchange.
The controversy comes as Zimbabwe continues to mourn Chivayo and his wife following the fatal helicopter crash. Chivayo, who was known for his extravagant lifestyle and high-profile business dealings, was reportedly travelling with his wife when the helicopter went down while they were heading towards Harare.
The tragedy has generated significant public interest, with discussions surrounding the couple’s wealth, assets and lifestyle continuing online.
Questions have also emerged over ownership of the helicopter involved in the crash, with reports suggesting that the aircraft may not have belonged to Chivayo personally.
Meanwhile, the alleged Instagram messages have added another layer to the online discussion surrounding the businessman. While the screenshots and claims continue to circulate, their authenticity and full context have not been independently established.
The controversy highlights how private social media exchanges can quickly become public, particularly when they involve prominent personalities and emerge during periods of intense public interest.
