A woman from Tacoma, Washington, welcomed a healthy baby boy after surviving a terrifying dog attack on the very day she was due to give birth.
Renee Wilson was preparing for the arrival of her child when the frightening incident unfolded outside her home in the 4000 block of Puget Sound Avenue. She was carrying a baby car seat to her vehicle when she noticed two loose dogs rushing toward her beloved chihuahua.
Without hesitation, Wilson stepped in to protect her small dog. In doing so, she became the target of the attack. The dogs knocked her to the ground and repeatedly bit her on several parts of her body, including her arms, legs, thigh, and head.

The situation became even more alarming when one of the dogs reportedly clamped onto her abdomen, where she was carrying her unborn baby. Despite the terrifying ordeal, Wilson continued fighting to shield both herself and her pet until help arrived.
Her desperate screams alerted nearby residents, who rushed to assist. One neighbor reportedly used a broom to drive the aggressive dogs away while others called emergency services. Their quick actions helped stop the attack before police officers and paramedics arrived at the scene.
Wilson was immediately taken to Tacoma General Hospital, where doctors carefully monitored both her condition and that of her unborn child. Because she had suffered deep puncture wounds to her abdomen and faced a high risk of serious infection, medical staff decided it was safest to induce labor the following day.
Fortunately, Wilson gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Armani. Doctors confirmed that the newborn was unharmed despite the violent attack his mother had endured just hours earlier.

Although Armani is healthy, Wilson continues to recover from the severe injuries she sustained. She remains in hospital receiving ongoing treatment, including physical therapy. Reports indicate she developed serious infections, including cellulitis and MRSA, and temporarily lost mobility in her right leg as a result of the attack.
Authorities later determined that the two dogs had escaped from their property through a damaged section of fencing that the owners allegedly knew needed repairs. Tacoma Animal Control seized both animals following the incident.
Officials have since declared the dogs dangerous and are seeking their humane euthanasia. However, the owners have a 10-day period in which they may appeal the decision before any final action is taken.
In addition to the animal control proceedings, the owners are facing misdemeanor charges related to failing to properly license the dogs and allowing them to roam freely. The charges carry fines totaling approximately $2,000.
Wilson has also indicated that she intends to pursue civil legal action against the dog owners, holding them accountable for the injuries and trauma she suffered.
The incident has sparked renewed conversations about responsible pet ownership and the importance of securing animals to prevent similar attacks. While Wilson faces a lengthy recovery, she says she is grateful that her son survived the ordeal without injury, calling his safe arrival the greatest blessing after one of the most frightening experiences of her life.
