A family in Nerina Close is mourning the tragic deaths of two loved ones after a 36-year-old man was shot dead and, hours later, a woman was found fatally stabbed while reportedly on her way to deliver the devastating news to her boyfriend.
According to police, Clinton Browers was shot at approximately 22:45 in Nerina Close. Police said Browers had been drinking when an unknown person suddenly opened fire.
It is alleged that Browers attempted to get up and run after being shot, but he collapsed and died at the scene. His family said he had been shot seven times.
Browers’ father recalled hearing gunshots from their home that night. The family only later discovered that Clinton had been the victim of the shooting.
According to his father, Clinton had allegedly received threats approximately two to three weeks before his death. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including a possible gang-related motive.
Clinton leaves behind two children, aged 12 and 5.
The tragedy took another devastating turn several hours later when 28-year-old Zakira Christians was found dead in an open field next to Clover Crescent at approximately 06:30.
According to relatives, Zakira was on her way to see her boyfriend to tell him that his brother, Clinton, had been shot and killed. She reportedly never made it to him.
Family members said Zakira had suffered a single stab wound to the chest. They also said there were no apparent signs of a struggle at the scene.
Police confirmed that a murder investigation is underway after a woman was discovered with a stab wound to the chest and was declared dead at the scene.
Capt. F.C. van Wyk said the circumstances surrounding Zakira’s death remain under investigation.

The two deaths have left their families facing an unimaginable loss within the space of only a few hours. What began with the fatal shooting of Clinton ended with another life being lost before his family could fully process what had happened.
The motive behind both incidents remains unclear, and police investigations are continuing to establish exactly what happened and whether the two deaths are connected.
Clinton’s family is now left to raise his two children in the aftermath of his sudden death, while Zakira’s loved ones mourn a mother who was reportedly simply trying to deliver heartbreaking news to someone she loved.
As investigations continue, relatives and community members are calling for answers and justice for both families.
