The community of Lukau village, near Groblersdal in Limpopo, is preparing to bid a painful farewell to two young lives tragically cut short. Twenty-two-year-old **Tshiamo Moramaga** and her cousin, **Baleseng Moramaga**, aged 21, will be laid to rest this weekend after their brutal killing in Mamelodi East, Pretoria.

The two cousins were shot and killed in cold blood last weekend, leaving their family and friends in deep mourning. Their sudden deaths have sent shockwaves through both the Limpopo and Pretoria communities, as people struggle to come to terms with the senseless loss of two promising young women whose lives had only just begun.
According to reports, Tshiamo and Baleseng were visiting Mamelodi East when tragedy struck. They were allegedly gunned down during a violent attack that left the community stunned and searching for answers. Details surrounding the shooting remain under police investigation, but preliminary information suggests that an argument may have escalated into deadly violence.

Family members describe the cousins as inseparable — young, vibrant, and full of life. “They grew up together and did almost everything together,” said one heartbroken relative. “It’s hard to imagine one without the other. Losing them both at once feels unbearable.”
Preparations for their joint funeral are currently underway in their home village of Lukau. Community members, family friends, and church groups have been gathering to support the grieving Moramaga family, offering prayers, food, and comfort as they prepare for the burial.

Local leaders have also extended their condolences to the family, calling for unity and strength during this painful time. “This tragedy has touched every corner of our community,” said a local councillor. “We must continue to speak out against violence and work together to ensure our communities are safe.”
In Mamelodi, where the incident took place, residents held a candlelight vigil earlier this week to honour the cousins’ memory. Mourners wore black and white while singing hymns and holding photos of Tshiamo and Baleseng. Many expressed anger and frustration over the rising levels of violent crime that continue to claim innocent lives across South Africa.
Police investigations into the double murder are ongoing. The suspect, identified as **Tebogo Mnisi**, has since appeared in court facing multiple charges, including two counts of murder and attempted murder. He has reportedly abandoned his bail application and remains in custody until his next court appearance in January 2026.
As their loved ones prepare to lay them to rest, the pain of their absence remains overwhelming. Tshiamo and Baleseng leave behind a trail of heartbreak, but also a legacy of love, laughter, and togetherness that will live on in the hearts of those who knew them.
May their souls rest in eternal peace. 🕊️
