According to Aqueelah, she does not owe strangers an explanation about her private life, but she pleaded for people to stop using the footballer’s name to create sensational stories.
Her statement followed reports claiming the couple had argued shortly before Adams’s death. Those reports sparked widespread speculation online, leading to harsh criticism and abuse directed at her.
The situation reportedly became so serious that Sport Minister Gayton McKenzie revealed Aqueelah had received death threats in the aftermath of the footballer’s passing.
