Limpopo Boy has opened up about the controversy surrounding a private video involving Matshidiso Matilda, giving his side of the story during an appearance on *Podcast and Chill with MacG*
The musician addressed several rumours that have circulated since the video surfaced online, including claims that he posted the footage himself, that he knew Matshidiso’s husband and that the scandal cost him major business opportunities.
Limpopo Boy admitted that he was responsible for recording the video but strongly denied uploading it to social media. According to him, the footage was recorded for personal reasons and was never intended to become public.
He suggested that someone may have accessed his phone while he was spending time with several male friends. He believes the person could have taken the device and uploaded the video without his knowledge.

However, Limpopo Boy said he was unwilling to accuse anyone without evidence. He also revealed that he was subsequently locked out of his TikTok account, which increased his suspicion that whoever accessed his phone may have known his password.
The artist explained that the encounter with Matshidiso happened during only their second meeting. He claimed that she had never told him she was married and that he only learned about her marital status after the controversy became public.
He also denied having any relationship with Matshidiso’s husband. Limpopo Boy claimed that an image circulated online was generated or manipulated using artificial intelligence to create the impression that the two men knew each other.
Addressing questions about why he recorded the video in the first place, Limpopo Boy referred to a previous experience that he said influenced his decision. He alleged that he had once been forced to pay R50,000 to a woman after they shared a bed.

He explained that the recording was intended as a form of protection and evidence, rather than something he planned to share publicly.
Limpopo Boy also rejected speculation surrounding the Vaseline that appeared in the footage, distancing himself from claims that he deliberately placed it there.
Another major issue he addressed was the reported impact of the controversy on his career. While some reports suggested he had lost several bookings and an Adidas sponsorship, Limpopo Boy said the claims had been exaggerated.
He confirmed that he lost a booking in Botswana but denied ever having an Adidas sponsorship. He further stated that his international tour remains on track, with planned appearances in Europe and Ghana still going ahead.

Despite attempting to clarify the rumours, Limpopo Boy acknowledged that the public backlash had taken an emotional toll on him. He said it was particularly painful to see people from his own country appearing to celebrate his struggles.
The musician questioned whether the controversy should erase the positive contribution he believes he has made through his work and the young people he has motivated.
His explanation has now added another perspective to the ongoing controversy, although questions remain about how the private recording ultimately reached social media and who may have been responsible for sharing it.
