The funeral of beloved Maskandi musician Scebi Dlamini, popularly known as Inkosi Yamagcokama, became an emotional gathering as his wife, Maka Sbahle, shared a deeply painful message following his untimely death.
Scebi was laid to rest in Msinga, KwaZulu-Natal, where family members, friends, fellow musicians and hundreds of mourners gathered to pay their final respects. The 29-year-old musician’s death has left many fans and loved ones struggling to come to terms with the loss of a young talent whose life was cut short.
During the funeral service, Maka Sbahle’s tribute was delivered by a loved one on her behalf. Her words painted a heartbreaking picture of a woman suddenly forced to face life without the person she regarded as her greatest source of support.
Addressing her late husband, she spoke about the promises they had made to each other and the future they had hoped to share. She recalled how he had assured her that their love would never end, making his sudden departure even more difficult to accept.

“My love, Bahle’s dad, Madala wami, the sun has set; you really left me. I see all of your friends here, but you are not there. You have really left me. Rest in peace,” part of the emotional tribute read.
The grieving wife also revealed that Scebi had been her biggest pillar of strength, particularly because she had lost the support of her parents. She explained that she was now left to navigate life and raise their children without the man she depended on.
Her words about being left alone without her husband moved many people at the funeral and later touched thousands of South Africans who watched footage of the ceremony online.
She also remembered how Scebi used to tell her that he would be the first one to die. Sadly, those words became reality, leaving her to deal with a loss she never expected to face so soon.

Footage from the funeral, broadcast by Newzroom Afrika, showed a solemn ceremony with Scebi’s coffin surrounded by flowers and mourners gathered to honour his life and legacy.
Social media users were deeply affected by Maka Sbahle’s tribute. Many expressed condolences to her, her children and the rest of the Dlamini family, while others remembered Scebi as a talented musician who had made an impact in the Maskandi industry.
Comments shared online included messages of sympathy and prayers for the family during their difficult time.

The funeral also attracted attention after social media users noticed a man who appeared to resemble late Amapiano star Mpura among those attending the ceremony. The sighting sparked discussion online, although the main focus remained on remembering Scebi and supporting his grieving family.
As mourners said their final goodbye, the emotional tribute from Maka Sbahle served as a painful reminder of the devastating impact of losing a loved one unexpectedly. For his family, friends and fans, Scebi Dlamini’s legacy will continue through the music and memories he left behind.
